First Generation

1. William1 Spicer(1) was born Culpepper, Virginia 11 January 1754. William died 4 September 1833 at 79 years of age. His body was interred 5 September 1833 south of Traphill, NC, Round Hill Bap. Church Cemetery.

He married twice. He married Jemina Haines 1780. Jemina was the daughter of Joseph Haines and Molly Haines. He married Sarah Jane Watts 16 November 1796. Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Watts. William Spicer is the first Spicer in Wilkes County arriving in 1775. He is the ancestor of all Spicers in Wilkes County. His grave was marked by the Daughters of the American Revolution for his service in the American Revolution. He was a member of Captain William Nalle's Company of Volunteers in the Augusta County, Virginia Regiment and fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant prior to the revolution. After moving to Surry County, North Carolina, a part of the county that would later become Wilkes County, he participated in the Battle of King's Mountain during the revolution.

William Spicer and Jemina Haines had the following child:
